He first met her on Christmas Eve in 2018, but for years they only knew of each other in passing. He was friends with her brother, and because she lived in the same apartment at the time, she would occasionally see him when he came over. She liked him even then—something about the way he carried himself while hanging out with her brother. And although he had some feelings for her too, he didn’t know her well enough to act on them during those early years.

Everything changed in April 2023. She hosted a game day at her house, and he came along with her brother. That night, he realized the feelings he once had never really went away. She happened to be preparing for a move and didn’t have room for her piano, so he asked if he could have it—and that’s how he got her number. The next week, when he went to pick up the piano, he told her honestly that he had feelings for her. To his surprise, she admitted she’d liked him in the past too, but she wanted to get to know him better first. So they started spending time together as friends, and over the next several months, especially during their summer serving in VBS kids ministry at their church, they grew close. As they learned more about each other, friendship naturally deepened into love, and they decided to begin dating.

From there, their story continued to unfold in the sweetest way. They kept growing, learning, and walking through life side by side. In time, that journey led them to the moment they both knew was coming—the day they got engaged, ready to build the rest of their lives together.
